NY Premiere of "Shine a Light" starring the Rolling Stones-March 30, 2008

what "should" have been a great premiere was one of the worst ones we have had in NYC. We were at the Ziegfield Theater under a massive tent that went from the theater down to 6th Avenue. Pretty decent space for the still photographers. All of the Rolling Stones show up-Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts and we are told they will pose together as a group and then with Director Martin Scorsese. Wonderful. Except the usual happens. The publicity people are ALL OVER the carpet, COMPLETELY blocking the still photographers from DOING THEIR JOBS! To top it all off, when they move slightly out of the way, they bent down a little bit but had their point and shoot digital cameras way up in the air.
I just don't understand the stupidity of these people. The "A" list shooters were in the same boat as everyone else. This is what the Paramount executives paid huge money for tonight.
We are then told to wait around 20 minutes after the start of the movie because jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will be walking to red carpet. Once again, pretty much the same thing although they posed a little bit longer.
Other guests included Carla Gugino ("Night at the Museum"), singer Vanessa Carlton, Gina Gershon and Kelly Lynch

I can't stand when the PR can't run the carpet correctly. We are there to help promote the movie, and everyone should take it slow and easy up the carpet.
